Glasgow Corporation Leyland Titan PD3A/2 (1960)
Catalogue Ref: GL/PD3/GY
1
Price: please e-mail

Corgi OOC Leyland Titan PD3 repainted (exterior and interior) as the sole Glasgow Corporation PD3A/2 which had the distinction of being the first Leyland PD3A and the only Leyland with a St.Helens front in the Glasgow Corporation fleet. The prototype was exhibited at the Earl's Court Commercial Motor Show in London in 1960 before entering service with the Corporation which lasted until 1974. Such a unique bus should, in retrospect, have been earmarked for preservation but was, alas, cannibalised for spares to maintain the remaining PD3/2 fleet (originally 139 strong) which had ordinary 'Midland Red' type tin fronts. This model, in the later yellow/green Glasgow Corporation livery adopted circa. 1959, carries the correct fleet number 'L398' front and rear and is on Route 58 to Dalmarnock. Lavishly embellished with the Corporation crest, GCT legal lettering, max. speed/u.w., fuel oil, emergency exit, reg.nos. front and rear etc. Striking side adverts are for Bell's Scotch Whisky and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Supplied in the original clear plastic Corgi presentation case. Compatible with 'OO' gauge model railways. Altogether a unique model of a unique Glasgow bus that we have already supplied to former GCT personnel.
